Around 30 million people vaccinated against Covid-19 in India

New Delhi, Mar 15: Around 30 million doses of Covid-19 vaccines have been administered in India, which makes it one of the countries that reached this figure the fastest, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare reported.

India began its vaccination campaign on January 16 with the inoculation of its health personnel.

So far, 29,738,409 Indians have been immunized. On Saturday, more than a million and a half doses of vaccines were administered.

The most recent phase of this program began on March 1 to benefit all people aged 60 and over, and those over 45 with specific comorbidities.

According to the Health Ministry, the recovery rate of Covid-19 in the country is 96.75 percent and so far 10,989,897 people have been cured of the infection.

In the last 24 hours, India registered 25,320 new cases and 158 deaths due to the current pandemic, which brought the total death toll to 158,604.
