Rautahat, 13 May: Gaur Municipality, Rautahat, has brought a temporary COVID hospital into operation at Gaur Narasingh Institute.In the wake of increasing COVID cases and the fact that the existing COVID ward at Gaur Hospital is running out of capacity, a 20- bed temporary COVID hospital has been brought into operation, in line with the decision of the DCCMC.
"Earlier, a DCCMC meeting had decided to set up at least one 10-bed COVID hospital in every local level. The hospital was set up in line with the same decision," said Gaur Municipality Mayor Ajaya Kumar Gupta.According to Mayor Gupta, the Nepali Army has been assigned to oversee the COV- ID hospital and manage COVID-related dead bodies.Provisions have also been made for round-the-clock ambulance service and free treatment of COVID patients.
"We have managed two doctors and two staff nurses to run the hospital," Mayor Gupta said. Meanwhile, a 45-bed COVID hospital in Chandrapur and a 32-bed COVID hospital at Gaur are already operating.
