Demonstration at Maiti Ghar demanding arrest of CK Raut

Kathmandu, October 24: The Nepal Engineers Association, Bagmati Pradesh and the official trade union of civil servants have staged a protest at Maitighar Mandala on Friday demanding arrest of C.K Raut, leader of Janamat Party after Rajesh Kushwaha, chief of the Department of Water Supply and Sewerage Management (DWSSM), Janakpur, and other employees were mistreated by cadres of the Janamat Party.

Speaking at the program, Acting President of the official trade union of civil servants Bholanath Pokhrel said that the country did not understand the importance of civil servants and demanded immediate arrest of all those involved in the criminal misconduct. He said that the incident in Janakpur was barbarous and that the  incident takes the country back to the Stone Age.

During the demonstration, President of Nepal Engineers Association, Bagmati Pradesh Nandalal Banjade said that the treatment meted out to the head of the office was violent. He said that the incident should be taken seriously and action should be taken against those involved in criminal activities. He called on how Janmat Party cadres went live on social media for 29 minutes insulting employees around the city like the Taliban in Afghanistan. He said that he felt as if there was no government in the country and demanded that all the culprits should be arrested and take action against them within three days.

President Banjade warned that the engineers would be forced to take to the street if action against C.K Raut and his cadres are not penalized within three days. The CK Raut-led Janmat Party cadres had mistreated the chief of the Department of Water Supply and Sewerage Management (DWSSM), Janakpur, Rajesh Kushwaha, on Thursday on the pretext of not making proper arrangements to contain inundation in Janakpur.
