IPPAN expects new dimension in power trade after fresh agreement between Nepal, India

Kathmandu, February 27: The Independent Power Producers' Association of Nepal (IPPAN) has welcomed the agreements reached at the recently held meeting of the Nepal-India Energy Secretary-Level Joint Steering Committee.

IPPAN Chairman Krishna Prasad Acharya expressed hope that the agreement between Nepal and India would add a new dimension to power trade and further consolidate mutual relations between Nepal and India.

Stating that a new foundation has been created for Nepal to export power up to Bangladesh, Acharya in a statement on Friday said that the agreement would play an important role in the development of electricity in the country.
