Foreign infiltration of Islamic schools

News

Kathmandu. It has been revealed that there is foreign infiltration in various Islamic schools (madarasas) established in Terai Madhesh of Nepal.

US-based NGO Helping Hands for Relief and Development (HHRD), which is considered to be closely related to the Pakistani terrorist organization Lashkar-e-Taiba, has revealed that it has infiltrated a madrassa established in Terai Madhesh, Nepal, in collaboration with an Islamic organization.

Michael McCaul, chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the US House of Representatives, ordered an investigation into the allegations, suspending financial support to HRD. He has written a letter to Samantha Power, Administrator of the American Cooperation Agency USAD on January 24. MP McCaul has expressed deep concern about this.

The Nepali security agencies have been expressing apprehension that organizations closely related to Lashkar-e-Taiba have established various offices in major locations in Kathmandu. This organization has recently provided Rs 10 to 15 lakhs for the purchase of land for establishing madrasa in Biratnagar. It is said that the madrasa will be run by the central member and chief religious leader of that organization.

Officials of the Special Bureau of Nepal Police have recently expressed their apprehension that the Qatari Embassy in Kathmandu has provided 50 to 55 lakh Nepalese rupees to spread religious fanaticism near the border with India. Security sources claim that there was a discussion in Biratnagar between the officials of the Qatari embassy in Kathmandu and the leader of the Islamic organization.

This not only creates communal tension in Nepal, but there is a possibility of anti-India activities using Nepal's land in the border area.

Such organizations active in Nepal have been receiving support from organizations based in Pakistan. Apart from that, such organizations opened in Nepal have been getting financial support from countries like Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Turkey.

Similarly, Pakistani and Chinese Islamic groups have been making regular visits to madrassas advocating such religious fanaticism in the name of religious pilgrimage.

Fearing security agencies, Pakistani Islamic religious leaders have been regularly visiting such madrassas established near the border with India in Koshi and Madhesh regions of Nepal. Security officials suspect that the Pakistani embassy in Kathmandu is also helping them.
HHRD is said to be related to Ministry of Internal Affairs of Pakistan.

The organization is currently active in Pakistan-administered Kashmir, Balochistan, Punjab, Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa provinces. In Nepal, this organization is believed to have links with a radical Islamic organization.

In some news published earlier, it has been said that the Nepali organization is affiliated with the Falah-e-Insaniyat Foundation, the charity arm of the banned Lashkar-e-Taiba. Source: Khabarhub.com
