I won't ask you to vote for me: PM tells JSP leaders

Kathmandu, 6 May: Prime Minister KP Oli, who is taking a vote of confidence in the parliament on April 10, has urged the leaders of the Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP), currently his ally, not to cast a vote of confidence and to remain neutral.

According to a source at the PM’s residence in Baluwatar, PM Oli said so after JSP leader Rajendra Mahat urged him to take the constitution amendment proposal before the day of taking the vote of confidence.

“I will not force you to vote for me. I would rather urge you to remain neutral,” the source said quoting PM Oli.

A meeting was held between PM Oli and JSP leaders at the PM’s official residence on Monday to discuss the current political situation.

JSP leaders Mahato and Mahanta Thakur had given a list to the government for withdrawing the cases against 25 individuals.
