Kathmandu, 14 June: Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP) Chairman Mahanta Thakur and senior leader Rajendra Mahato's group are busy preparing for the registration of a new party. Thakur and Mahato, who are in the minority in the JSP, are preparing to register a new party after the Central Executive Committee failed to submit the signatures of the majority members in the Election Commission.

The JSP executive committee has 51 members. Among them were 26 from the then Rashtriya Janata Party (RJP) and 25 from the Federal Socialists. However, Nawal Kishore Sah, Ram Naresh Yadav, Mahendra Rai Yadav, Ramesh Yadav, Mrigendra Kumar Singh Yadav, and Gajadhar Yadav, who were in the executive committee on behalf of the then Rajapaksa, have left with Thakur and Mahato for the last time.

According to the JSP leader, the new party is preparing to register after the Thakur group fell into the minority. "Thakur and Mahatoji are internally preparing for the registration of a new party after being in the executive committee," a JSP source.
