Kathmandu, 20 June: Chairman of Janata Samajwadi Party Nepal (JSP) Upendra Yadav's party has decided to apply to the Election Commission for the party's official status. The decision was taken at a meeting of the executive committee
Due to the dispute between the two sides for the balance of power, the JSP has split in two. One party is being led by Chairman Mahanta Thakur and the other is being led by Yadav.
The Upendra Yadav faction has decided to go to the Election Commission for the party's official status after the Election Commission did not recognize the two parties.
He had suggested going to the Election Commission for officiality even after consulting a lawyer. The meeting also decided to seek clarification from four lawmakers who violated the whip of the state assembly parliamentary party in Lumbini. Similarly, the government has also requested to withdraw the issue of sand extraction mentioned in the budget.
The meeting also decided to instruct party leaders and cadres to rescue and provide relief to the flood victims.
